A setting favorable to the development of authors

It's the final lecture of the semester. My time spent at DTE has been extremely memorable, and the connections that have been made there will last a lifetime. It has been brought to my attention that educators have a wide variety of options available to them in order to better meet the needs of their pupils.

Ms. Quinn focused on two different persuasive writing strategies.

The gradual release of responsibility framework is a method of teaching that places an emphasis on guiding students along the path toward independent learning. This quick video from YouTube goes into further detail https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kK5uBmriDNo.

Now, cultivating an atmosphere that fosters the production of writers is easier than you might think it is.

To begin, the act of writing should be pleasant; there should be a location set aside where people of all ages and backgrounds can practice their writing skills. It has been imaginatively dubbed the Writer's Corner after all.

Sharing the work that our students have created is another important thing to do. Students gain a great deal of inspiration when they see their work displayed in public areas of the classroom. Reading and writing are two sides of the same coin. It is critical for students to gain exposure to a variety of genres and modes of written expression.

As educators, it is also our responsibility to convey to our students that the act of writing can be enjoyable. The following is an illustration of an engaging Halloween writing activity that can be completed by students.

Here is a list of criteria that we as teachers ought to take into consideration when evaluating the writing that students have produced.

Overall, the strategies that I have learned throughout the entire course will be the foundation of my future classes.

  1. Great insight Demante'. The Halloween poster was also very creative. Of course, anything with design catches my attention. I am now thinking of the many writing activities and themes I can utilize with my students. Cheers.

When taught in steps teachers also have the benefit of observing where students may go off track and correct them on that step before moving on to the next step. Where were these wonderful steps when I was going to school? The 8-step writing process is the key to teaching writing. It’s a series of steps that have students working on various aspects of the writing process. The partial run-through that we did in class was extremely helpful in relating theory to practice. Especially in discerning how topics given by students can be worded or corrected. The 8-step writing process is not just for students but also for someone like myself who is on the fence about writing a book and how I can go about getting some serious writing done. Step 1- Idea: The students are tasked with creating a topic. My topic was “How to protect yourself online” bu...
